Agnes M. Jones

Sculptor & Blacksmith

Agnes M. Jones is an artist who uses steel to draw, creating sculptural pieces full of movement and character. Having studied her BA in Materials Practice at the University of Brighton and a Master of Research at Glasgow School of Art examining the role of metalwork in public space, she combines craft and research in her sculptural pieces.

Her work has always been led by drawing, working with line to create pieces that translate beautifully from pen to steel, allowing a very solid material to seem like it’s been sketched in the air. Recent pieces have explored using line sparingly and simply, leaving you to fill in form on your own.

Agnes has appeared in many online and print publications including Home & Interiors Scotland, The Dalstonist and interviews on Rial Talk PodcastHow Scotland Crafts and BBC Sound's Woman's Hour.
